What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing. It is achieved by recognising an experience which you are able to unravel in the present moment, with a gentle and open mind. It allows you to discover your thoughts and feelings without judgement or distraction, identifying the “good” or “bad”.
What are the benefits of mindfulness?
The benefits which come from mindfulness are a wide range. However, it is important to be aware that these benefits do not necessarily become apparent straight away, mindfulness techniques are something that requires a lot time and attention. Listed are a few of the benefits:
- Stress reduction
- Relationship satisfaction
- Job performance
- Productivity
- Enhanced creativity
- Improves decision making
- Provides a greater focus
Tool kit:
This toolkit was created to introduce mindfulness techniques which will help build resilience alone. There is no “right” or “wrong” way to begin practicing mindfulness; it is an independent task which you take at your own pace.
